Question : Problem: airport extreme card on Apple G5 (4 years old) appears to be functioning but not connecting to linkysy router wirelessly
|

My Apple G5 was connecting to my network via linksys router using a airport extreme card I had installed in it. Once I moved it is no longer working. I have another Mac laptop that is working fine via the same llnksys wireless router and the G5 works when I have it connected via cable. I have all the security on the router temporarily disa bloed to make the connection easier and still it just says that "there was an error connecting to the router" and the router never comes up as an option under the wireless icon (which BTW does appear) on the G5. I am wondering if it was the card itself that has gone bad in the move but thought someone at EE might have a suggestion to check out the driver first. I was not able to find instructions on how to uninstall he driver for the card but I did try reinstalling the driver from the disk that came with it to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I would just bite the bullet and buy an Airport Extreme. Time spent troubleshooting this isn't worth the effort. Just but the Apple hardware and all will work seamlessly. Any PCs you have will also work just fine.
