Question : Problem: is it possible to boot with 0 beeps?

I built my machine last summer, and while building it, I learned that various beep sounds could mean various errors.. ie 2 short, 1 long, etc...  now, whenever i boot it up, it does a single beep, right before running the POST, (which i assume means everything is running fine...).. im just curious to know if it's possible to eliminate this one beep and have the pc boot beep-free.

There may be a setting in the bios to disable the beep, but if there isn't you can't turn it off. It's a diagnostic message that's coded very low level in the system bios.

Opening the computer and physically removing or disconnecting the pc speaker from the motherboard would do it though. It should be connected to a couple of pins on the motherboard and you should be able to just pull it out.
