Question : Problem: Mylex Raid Controller and Creating a Hardware Mirror Array

I have a Mylex AcceleRAID 250 (DAC960PTL1) controller in a Windows 2000 Server.

I have a SCSI drive that is set to JBOD in the controller's exAssist set up.  I have another blank formatted drive, same size and make, on the controller that I would like to make a Raid 1 mirror array with this JBOD drive.  I get an error message when I go through the set up to add the blank drive to the JBOD array and set it to raid 1.

Does anyone know if it is impossible to change the original drive to a mirror array?

If it's possible how do I go about it?  I can find no documentation on this situation anywhere.

Looks like you can't use JBOD for fault tolerance as it's not supported. You probably have to recreate your drive arrays as RAID 1 in this case.
