Question : Problem: Canon Canoscan FB 330P Twian Error in WinXP / PhotoShop6.0

I've recently reformatted/reinstalled my system with WinXP (which i was running previously) yet when reinstalling CanoCraft Drivers i'm unable to import or get the scanner to start scanning.

this is the message i get in a small error box from windows:

canocraft cs-p 3.7

other error

error code : 0x10ff0800

twain_32 : could not open twain source.

Anyone have any idea's of how to get the scanner - scanning?

OK...first uninstall any existing software you have loaded for the scanner.  Next, after restarting the computer, check your C:\WINDOWS directory (or \WINNT) for a TWAIN_32 or TWAIN32 folder, and delete any Canon related files from there.  Then download the following 2 files from Canon's website:

http://canoncanada.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/canoncanada.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=VWnnhZsg&p_tbl=9&p_id=282&p_created=1010431041

(If the links don't work, go to this page:
http://www.canon.ca/english/index-softwaredownload.html then choose your FB 330P from the scanners list, the next page will have the download for the driver and Toolbox applications).

Install the driver first, then the Toolbox.  Also check your parallel port settings in Device Manager (r-click My Computer-Manage-Device Manager) and go to the Ports section, then LPT1.  Double click it, go to Port Settings tab, and choose "Use any IRQ assigned to the port" and check "Enable legacy Plug n Play detection".  You may also want to verify your BIOS settings for the port (press F1 or Del or whatever key you are prompted with when you first start the computer to "Enter Setup press ".  Ensure the Parallel/Printer port is set to ECP or EPP mode (ECP preferable).
