Question : Problem: Is it possible to force a dot matrix use native fonts in win98 ?
|
|
I use a Panasonic KX-P1124 dot matrix printer for printing packing slips (saves a fortune on inkjet carts !) I paste info to Notepad in win98SE & print from there
However, it is quite slow, as the print is treated as graphics - is there any way to use the native fonts for the printer to speed things up a bit ?

OK, sorry, it didn't occur to me that you were using a TrueType font. In Notepad (you could do something similar in Word or Wordpad). Edit > Set Font. Choose a font like Courier, or anything else that you like the look of, that doesn't have the TT symbol in front of it.
On my system at least, Notepad will default to that font the next time you open it, but if not, you can set whatever you want as your default font in Word, or you can set up a style sheet or template. A macro is probably only worth the trouble if you want some other font as your default font. Like most things in Windoze apps, there are two or three ways to do it.
