Question : Problem: HP Laser Jet 1012

Have 1012 printer, it came with USB only unfortunately are using these printers on a visual scanner for the eye (retina)  does anyone know if a USB connection on the printer can be converted with a cable connection to plug into parallel on computer. I know they have from printer to USB, but need the parallel to USB

It is that simple, the USB port of a PC can emulate serial, parallel, and network ports but the parallel port of a PC cannot emulate a USB port. Two options, install a PCI USB card in the computer(if possible) or use printer with parallel port. A more detailed description of the system would help define your options...is the system proprietary or free standing pc that operates the scanner...etc.
