Question : Problem: Blackberry Newbie: 3,000 messages?

I help support one or two Blackberry devices, but don't have one myself, and I am a beginner on Blackberry. We have no Blackberry Enterprise Server but use Exchange 2007.

An employee just called saying he just recently noticed that he has "over 3,000" messages in his Blackberry. He sync's to Outlook with USB cable (again, no BES), which itself connects to Exchange. He believes this 3,000 is too high, and indeed his inbox only contains about 12 items, though he has over 10,000 deleted items.

Is there a way to determine how Blackberry is counting? How do I view (or is possible) to see just Inbox, Sent Items, or a particular folder?

How to view your extra folders:
In the messages goto View Folder.
Then select the folder you want to view.

When syncing verify that only the inbox is synced (not the deleted items)
