Question : Problem: CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops and Desktops

Hello Experts

Ive got a problem with the product: ARCserve Backup for Laptops and Desktops.
Everytime I try to create a new user (On Server or Client) it doesnt work.
When the client start the Backup, it crashes after the Hardware inventory.
I tried with some other computers so the failture isnt the Hardware.
I tried also with some usernames, no one worked.

The software tell me : Rwclient.exe close cause of an error.  
But not which one& The Log is still clean&

Can you please help me?

-Users will not be created properly
-Software crashes after Hardwareinventory (if I created a user)
-All users which were created before, work properly

I found the solution of my problem!
And discovered a new one...

Solution to my problem:

The error appears cause of a corrupt local.cdb file.
This file handles the local configuration.
Usually this file is 70kb or bigger... Mine was 600bytes.

So i copied another file (from another backup user) to my "user database Folder" and now it seems to work.


To my new problem:

Why does the ARCserve Backup Server creates corrupt or incomplete configuration files?
