Question : Problem: Mixing brands of ddr memory

Hello

Im trying to save some money.
Is it ok to mix brands of memory?
(I have searched google for this, and seems to be OK and not OK!)

This is what I have:
Motherboard:
Soltek SL-75DRV5 KT333 1AGP 5PCI 3xDDR AC97 Audio ATA/133 Socket A.
Memory:
256 MB DDR PC2700 333 MHz Samsung original.

I would like to buy
"Standard 512Mb DDR PC2700/DDR333 184pin 333MHz cas2.5"
Instead of
"Samsung MK8264 512Mb DDR PC2700/DDR333 184pin 333MHz"

So, if it in this case is ok to mix, what does "cas2.5" mean? Any trouble for me?

I have read the soltek manual, trying to find out if my motherboard will accept 256+512, but I
have found nothing. One more thing, does it matter where i put the new memory stick (which slot) ?

Thanks / Lennart.........
