Question : Problem: Blackberry Pearl (8100) used as a bluetooth model for a macbook pro (not using teather service)

I would like to know how to use my Blackberry Pearl as a modem form my Macbook Pro.  I would like to be able to access it the internet through my phone using bluetooth. I have tried to do this already but get error messages related to the PPP server connection.
