I haven't personally had a board repaired; but have suggested them for friends on three occasions in the last few years and have always had excellent results -- the boards worked perfectly every time after the caps were replaced.
Capacitor failure is probably the #1 cause of motherboard failures -- and if you have them replaced with premium caps the board will probably last "forever" (at least until the owner has elected to upgrade).
... it's not at all uncommon to replace the caps on a failed board => the primary reason for doing so (as I suspect is the case here) is to not have to reload the OS, activate it, reload all the apps, etc. as you'd have to do with a newer board with a different chipset, CPU, etc.
