No, it's been a decade or so since any flash device had only 10,000 write cycles. But it is true that MLC:SLC endurance can vary by 10:1 or more. Assuming a 10:1 factor, that means -- in my example above, that the MLC life with CONSTANT writes would be 5.1 years. Even if it's as bad as 30:1 (which some claim it can be) that would still be 1.7 years (so you'd get a new drive under warranty). But those figures assume CONSTANT, NON-STOP write activity to the drive ... so they're simply not realistic. In real life, you're not likely to even be writing even 1% of the time .... so I simply wouldn't worry about it. You DID buy the SSDs for speed -- right? So take advantage of them :-)
