Question : Problem: my pc not detecting my Western Digital MyBook Essential 1 TB

first, i used my desktop XP (SP2) to access harddrive, and worked, so I format in to NTFS. Since it complains with FAT32, not sure why. And i have copied files to mybook. Now, i am trying to access it from all of my computers, they all cant detect it. Any idea why? i tried diff cable, wont work, I used the diagnostic software for western digital mybook, it gave read cable error, something likes that. The cable, is the same cable when I bought it, and it worked first time. I tried to plug the power from wall jack right away, still not working.

Eventhough you already tried this, try a third cable. If it still doesnt work, the enclosure has gone bad which is actually a common failure from what I have been reading. The good news is that the data on the drive may still be recoverable if you put it inside another enclosure or inside a computer directly.
