Question : Problem: Moving two mirrored RAID volumes to a new computer

What is involved in physically moving two mirrored RAID hard drives from a Dell XPS410 with BIOS RAID to a new Dell XPS 630 that is not currently configured for RAID.  Can the RAID configuration be added easily?  The RAID is not a critical requirement, so what's involved in using one of the XPS410 drives in the XPS 630 as a single drive without RAID?  Thanks for your advice!

Lots of aspirin.
A quick looks shows the 410 is using an Intel P965 Express chipset, and the 630 is using a NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI chipset. So all the basic drivers wiil need to be uninstalled as set to generic MS ones, then a boot to the OS cd to do a Repair reinstall after it is in the new system.
You might be able to do it with Sysprep without too much trouble.

The above is just a short description. If you want to go ahead and do it, say so, and there are several Experts floating around that know more about it than I do (and hopefully are Subbing in to this).

But they will still say the best thing to do is:
Back up you data and settings, and go with a clean install.
