Question : Problem: Check RAID status
Hi!
I want the application that I'm currently working on to be able to detect when the RAID status (using hardware RAID 5) changes to "Rebuilding".
Usually I monitor this with Intel's Matrix Storage Manager, but now I need to add this functionality to my own application.
How can I do this?
I'm assuming I have to go straight to the hardware, since Windows doesn't notice the status.
I'm pretty new when it comes to this kind of hardware programming.
I'm using Windows XP and RAID Controller and Chipset is from Intel.
Answer : Problem: Check RAID status
Unfortunately, I think Intel will not provide you with such support. However, you must have a wide understanding of the RAID controller signals, ICH, HDDs etc. Or you can refer to some open source RAID monitoring implementations.
