Question : Problem: Citrix desktop maps the local drive as A$ which causes long delays
|
|
Our network has quite a few mapped/shared drives, so when my Citrix desktop is loaded, there are a lot of $x drives. When I open MY COMPUTER, there is a long delay of 20-30 seconds before it responds; however, when I disconnect A$, Citrix immediately remaps "A$" as the Citrix "A:", then all is well. No more lags anywhere. Any suggestions? TIA

The A$ drive sounds like that would be a floppy drive? is that correct? If so that would explain why it is so slow (because the server is trying to access the floppy on the remote client). To get rid of this problem create/modify a citrix policy to NOT map floppy drives.
The settings for that are here:
1. go to the Properties of an existing policy or create a new one 2. Go to Client Devices > Resources > Drives > Mappings 3. Enable this and check the box to disable floppy drives
