Question : Problem: Recover data from Sony Memory Stick Duo MagicGate

Hi there
After much experimentation, I've come to to conclusion that my data is lost: this is a card from a Sony Camera (T-11) that was connected to a PC via a USB 2.0 card reader, to copy the pictures across. During the file copy process it aborted with an error message which I'm not sure of (didn't see it). I've since tried to connect it to card-reader and camera, neither of which will recognise it. I'm using the adapter that came with my Memory Stick Duo (a different one).

On insertion into the camera, the camera says “Format Error” and flashes the code C:13:01 on the screen.

When I put it into the card reader, Windows doesn’t recognise that there’s a drive there at all.
I’ve tried recovery with:
PhotoRescue 2.1
Flash File Recovery
Recover My Photos
OnTrack EasyRecovery Pro
WinHex (at a basic level)

They’ve all failed… none of them seem to see the card at all.

WinHex seems to have loads of advanced options that I’m unfamiliar with, so I’m not sure if there’s more I could be doing.
In WinHex (as with PhotoRescue 2.1) the message I generally get is “Read error” and “The parameter is incorrect”.

Help appreciated, esp since this is not only important, but also urgent!
