Question : Problem: tiff compression

Hi, we have people in the field starting to upload paperwork to us through our website. for our system we need the document in tif format. Some of the users are scanning the docs on their flatbed scanners, saving them as tiffs and the file sizes are way too big. Is there any way to reduce the file size to under 1MB without sacrificing resolution?

Answer : Problem: tiff compression

That sort of bears out my posting.
These files are already compressed using Tiff compression.
The only way to reduce the file size further is to use jpeg compression, but that is a "lossy" compression, and on black and white, you will see little benefit.
However, those are large file sizes for B&W.

Is there a  "black and white line drawing"  option?
