Question : Problem: Can't run HP 3970 Scanjet from Desktop or Start Menu

When I try to run my Scanjet 3970 from the desktop icon or the start menu I get the following messages:  Internet Explorer Script Error; an error has occurred in the script on this page; Line: 141; Char: 3; Error: Unspecified; Code: 0; URL: file://C:\program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bble\director\director3.htm; do you want to continue running scripts on this page?  I click yes and I get another message:
Internet Explorer Script Error; an error has occurred in the script on this page; Line: 238; Char: 3; Error: Unspecified; Code: 0; URL: file://C:\program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bble\director\director3.htm; do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
After that no matter how many times I try nothing happens.  I have run the scanner from other applications Roxio PhotoSuite for one and others that allow input from scanners and digital cameras.  I have tried the solutions that I have found on the solutions pages, but so far, nothing has worked, I need your help!

PS If I reboot, the same thing happens in the same sequence.

Did you try uninstalling the scanjet software and driver, and reinstalling it?
