Question : Problem: Error -Unable to initialize remote agent -unable to attach to \\mailserver\microsoft exchange mailboxes

HI,  (Server 2003, Symantec backupexec 11)

My backups are failing with the error mentioned above - it also cannot attach to Public folders or first storage group. It lists each line twice in the error log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume the remote server a different server than the Backup Exec server?
What is the version of Exchange?

Make sure the following is true:
* The remote agent is installed on the Exchange server. Make sure the Remote Agent is updated to Backup Exec 11d. Push it out again from the source server.
* Make sure the Exchange services are up on the remote server.
* You can back up files on the C: drive on the Exchange server
* The Logon account you use to back up Exchange has Full Administrator Rights in Exchange (see screenshots in http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/239613.htm)
