Question : Problem: need power mac G5 video troubleshooting tips

This is an early G5 with a single 2ghz cpu and PCI-X slots. I need tips on how to isolate the cause of no video. I have reset the PRAM, tried a replacement video card, tried substitute ram and substituted monitors with no success. I get the start-up chime and I think there is hard drive activity but no display of any kind. I don't want  to replace the mother board until I am reasonably sure that will solve the problem.

I need trouble-shooting suggestions that will identify the most probable cause of the lack of video.

As I previously noted, I did remove both CPUs, inspected components on the mother-board, found nothing and re-installed the CPUs.

When I rebooted the computer, everything worked fine!!

I can't think of any other cause so this may mean, "when all else fails, re-seat the CPU(s)". Or it may mean that miracles do happen. In any event, I will accept my good luck.
