Question : Problem: Audio problems.

Hello All!

I've just installed a new motherboard into a new case.

Problem #1: Front audio header is connected correctly.  I tested the front headphone connection.  It gave me static The monitor went amber, then system rebooted.

Problem #2: Onboard motherboard speaker : No sound.  No beeps on post.  However, system runs fine.

I've never had a problem like this before.  I've built many system.  So do I take it that the onboard speaker is no good?

Thanks for your time & attention,

Answer : Problem: Audio problems.

You may be able to adapt your cable.  Many of these cables are held in their plastic cases by a little copper strip.  You can probably see it in the side of the case.  If you depress the copper strip with a paper clip or needle you can then wiggle the cable free.

This link shows you how to do it for USB.
