Question : Problem: NIC not recognized in clean install of XP Home

I did a clean install of Win XP Home Edition. My NIC does not show up in device manager. My motherboard is Intel and it appears that NIC is part of board. How do I get XP to go back and find it. I do understand when someone explains to me. I'm not any kind of expert but I can follow directions. Let's say my knowledge level is enough to get me in trouble.
