Question : Problem: How do I fix Scanmaker i900 that doesn't scan (totally black image)
I'm using Microtek Scanmaker i900 on Windows XP. For some time, it was working ok, but now every time I try to scan/preview anything, it will only show black pages. Lamp seems to be ok and it makes all the sounds it used to make. Any chance of fixing this? N.B. It's connected using USB cable to a USB 1.1 port (it's an old computer).

try it on another pc, and with another cable.
But it may just be bad - in which case, you need to replace it
