Question : Problem: Redirect wireless users to splash page when browser first loads

I hope this is in the correct area, if not please feel free to move and please excuse my error.

I have a wireless network at a public library that is essentially it's own network (ie, subnet, broadband connection, etc).  I inherited this from the person before me, so I am still working through learning the configuration and whatnot.  One of the things I was hoping to do was configure it so that when a user first connects and opens their web browser instead of seeing their homepage they would be redirected to a splash page of ours (I would install a webserver on the wireless network for this) that had some information and links.

Basically I am trying to mirror what many hotels do with their guest wireless access where when you first connect and open the browser you have to click through an agreement or something to get online.

We are using Cisco Aironets (AP-1232-AG-A-K9) and the impression I had gotten when I talked to a Cisco rep a while back at a conference was that this wasn't hard to do.  Unfortunately I have not been able to find much information when searching and was hoping for some help.

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions/solutions!!

What you are looking for is called a Captive Portal.

Some are pretty spendy but there are some free and OpenSource ones if you do a search on SourceForge.net.

Most Captive Portals do more than just a redirect like authentication but you could possibly turn those features off.

Here's a link...
