Question : Problem: USB to Parallel printer problem

I am with AARP Tax Aide and we do free taxes for the elderly.  I am being given some HP Laser Printers with only have parallel ports.  I have laptops with only USB ports. I purchased some BUSLINK USB-Parallel Cables. They say they require no drivers for Windows XP. I have Windows XP. I do not have the HP Printers, but< I have an Konica/Minolta Page Pro 1350W with a parallel port.  I cannot get the K/M printer to work with the USB port. I deleted all the drivers and started from scratch connected to the USB port.

Is this a problem with this printer?  Will these cables work with the HP printers?

Answer : Problem: USB to Parallel printer problem

The "W" on the end means that it a Windows printer. (sometimes called host-based or GDI printers) this means that it is extremely unlikely to work with a print server unit or parallel/USB port convertor.
see here for an explanation:

The HP printers, as long as they are not Host based units, should have no problems.
