Question : Problem: NIC not showing up after reformat

Hello there,

I just did a fresh reformat and installed a fresh winxp SP3. For some reason my network card isn't being recognized. It isn't displayed in device manager, but when I check the power indicators on the back of the network card when the computer is on, it is on. I know it isn't the card, because it works on my other computer. The pci slot can't be fried or malfunctioning because the network card's power is on(correct me if I am wrong there).

I have 3 PCI slots, and I have tried it in every single one, with the same results.

Add hardware doesn't recognize there is anything new installed either.

I am just completely stuck now, can anyone help me out?

Okay, I have no idea how or why, but it just randomly showed up in the device manager and works now. I had pre-installed the network card's software on it and it didn't prompt me for anything whatsoever. Very weird... thanks for all the help anyway everyone.
