Question : Problem: Cannot locate correct driver for my onboard audio card

I reformated my PC recently and installed Server 2003 (instead of XP), and I can't find the correct driver for it.

It was showing up with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, but right-click and Update Driver didn't work.  I then installed Driver Detective and the driver that it suggested seemed to work, but when finishing the driver install I get a Code 10 error (device cannot start).

I have looked on www.pcidatabase.com but it's unclear which one I should get.

The device is a VEN 1039, DEV 7012

I know it is an SiS Chipset, because the network card is SiS900, if this helps.

I have since emailed DriversHQ to notify them of the incorrect driver, but they cannot help me.

Any ideas?

What other information do you need from me?

Thanks.

The driver Ive tried is a file called a12112d.zip located on the SiS website.

Answer : Problem: Cannot locate correct driver for my onboard audio card

Right, I've had a chance to have a good look at the motherboard.  It is indeed a PC-Chips motherboard, and in large writing at the middle of the board is

M848A
Rev 2.1

And on one of the chips (looks like quite a major one) it says

SiS
963Lua
PNA4117
0331FA

I also installed System Information for Windows.  It has the following ino about my board:

Manufacturer       ECS
Model                    M848A
Version                 1.0

North Bridge          SiS746FX Revision 10
South Bridge         SiS LPC Bridge Revision 10

CPU                       AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+
CPU Socket           Socket A (462)

Thanks.

P.S.  souseran, it is not a HD card.  Cheers.
