Question : Problem: Intel at 3 GHz vs AMD at 900 MHz - need for concern?

I don't order our new computers, but I do log their specs while I'm prepping them for use here at work.  I've noticed that our new PCs with Intel prcessors seem to all be in the 2-3 GHz range, while our new PCs with AMD processors seem to be under a GHz (more of the 800-900 MHz range).

I saw this thread and it coincides with other things I've seen indicating that AMD processors are generally better than Intel processors:

My question is, should I be concerned about the lower listed speed of the AMD's, or do they work in such a different way than the Intels that comparing the speeds of the two brands is like comparing apples and oranges?  (I'm guessing the latter, but would like to confirm with those in the know).

Thanks.

Here is the support document for the BIOS on the DC5750 sff

There is an interesting setting in the BIOS under power management.
"Runtime Power Management Enable/Disable. Allows certain operating systems to reduce processor voltage and frequency when the current software load does not require the full capabilities of the processor."
Might want to disable that to see if it makes a difference

Here is the DX2250 BIOS guide.

All I see in there that may effect the CPU speed is the AMD Cool&Quiet also under power management. Try disabling that.

If these don't effect the running speed of the CPU's then a call to HP support would be in order.
