Question : Problem: Remote control that can mute Windows XP microphone input

We have a video conferencing setup and have the need to be able to mute the the microphone (in Windows XP) from a remote control.  Does anyone know of a PC/USB remote control that is capable of this either out of the box or that is customizable?
