Question : Problem: Hard Disk Errors... Scandisk does not fix them, How do I mark bad sectors ?

Hi, pal

   I have a disk with errors, the scandisk works hard to complete a full analisys and it takes hours (6 or 7 hs) till finish. But errors are still there afterwards. I ran the scandisk again and it founds errors again !!!. I needed 2 days just to realize that scandisk doesn't work, I don't know what to do.
   I wouldn't like to format the disk (again) cause it takes me a lot of time to setup the ****ing windows 98 and all the applications, but if there's no other solution, never mind, I'll do it. Is there any tool who checks the hard drive, diagnose and mark efficiently bad sectors ? Perhaps, is another problem, I'm really not sure about this. I think I need a HD diagnose tool.

seems like a failing drive...dont bother to keep it else data would be gone forever,
backup and buy a new one...
