Question : Problem: scandisk: file recovery

The electricity went off and when I turned it back on there was a prompt to run scandisk. Now I have around 128 "File*.chk" files on my hard disk. They are all 4KB in size. When I try to see what's in them an "open with" window appears. An Astound presentation I created will not run now! How do I open these files to look at them? Can I put them back where they belong? Would the Astound presentation run then?

I would have to say no.  The are pieces of clusters from your hard disk.  The reason they were put there was because the system did not know what or where they were to be attached.  I am very sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, with my explaination I hope you understand.
