Question : Problem: HP 450c - Problems connecting to laptop. Laptop no LTP1. Trying to connect using Parallel printer to USB converter. Cannot even test print.

I am attempting to connect my HP 450C to my new laptop, but having problems.
Connecting from Plotter parallel port to laptop USB using converter cable.
Just getting error printing message when trying to plot from AutoCAD.
OS Windows XP Home.
I have reinstalled the OEM driver etc.
Am I trying to do something that is not possible ?
Can anyone offer any advice ?

Hi isherwen,
According to the user guide: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/bpp02417/bpp02417.pdf
Section 10-8, it states you require either a parallel-to-parellel cable or a serial-to-serial cable.
You've already stated your laptop does not have a parallel port, but i would imagine you have a serial port? Hopefully you should be able to get hold of the specific serial cable from your local computer store
