Question : Problem: No sound from front headphone socket
|
|
Hello
Can anyone help.? I have a Dell e520 desktop PC and the onboard sound is terrible so i put in a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme audio card and it is great but there is no sound from the headphone socket on the front of the PC. Does anyone know if i can do something to remedy this ( it was a lot easier to put the headphones in the front rather than have to scrabble about at the back of the PC)
any help would be gratefully recieved.
thanks

Eric is right, the cable should be connected to your motherboard. All of the X-Fi cards have audio-out pins for frontside headphone/mic plugins, so all you need to do is unplug the cable from your motherboard and plug it into the pins it fits on your soundcard.
For reference, the plug that you're looking for should look almost exactly like what's in the left-hand side of this picture: http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/60000202/Images/18/8008651.jpg
