Question : Problem: How would I get my new Acer Monitor to work in Native Mode 1440*900 with my Dimension 4550

I recently purchased an Acer AL1917W LCD to replace a smaller screen.  

I have tried to get it to work in native resolution 1440*900 without success.  Before my wife kills me because she says the letters are fuzzy, I desperately need assistance.

My system is a Dell Dimension 4550 with an ATI Rage Ultra 128 card w 32mb

Any ideas, solution appreciated

what operating system are you running? windows me? windows 98? it seems that your computer is out dated to run this resolution at that. you would need to upgrade your video card and you will definately see some change and clearer picture with better resolution. you could try upgrading the drivers for the one you have now, that may work. here is a link--http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?action=download&driverid=121298

other than that, i would suggest looking at a card like--

it is very cheap, and an outstanding card for it's price. it will do the job for you. if you need any more help with this. please reply.
