Question : Problem: Best / most secure way to access another PC over internet
|
|
The requirement is next: I need to access several PC's on a small LAN that has access on internet through ADSL router. There are couple of PC's that are behind two NAT's (most of them are behind one NAT/router).
1) What is the best / most secure approach to achieve this? 2) Is there way I can awake PC's if they are powered off?
Routers /switches that are used in this LAN are low budget devices. All PC's have Windos XP. Most of them are Pro versions, but there are couple of Home editions. If there is a good solutions that needs a Pro version, then I will rearrange versions so all PC's that I need to access will have Pro version.
Thanks, Goran

The easiest and still secure way is to use logmein, which has a free version. The advantage here is that you don't have to open any firewall ports or specially setup your Router. It uses SSL encryption which is pretty secure.
