Question : Problem: Cant connect my laptop to wireless network
|
|
Hi,
I just installed my wireless router. I can connect with cable - no problem, but I cant connect wireless. My wireless router is has ip address 192.168.1.1, DHCP server enabled. Windows Firewall disabled. I can connect to my wireless network. When I do ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, I get error message - cant connect to DHCP server. Then I type in IP address and Default Gateway manually. It says then it can connect to network, although it doesnt ping to 192.168.1.1. Any ideas? Thanks

Make sure you've got the password right. When you get it wrong windows won't tell you. It'll just look like you connected but can't really see anything.
Delete the wireless profile and try again as the wrong password may be saved.
Might just be that your DHCP isn't working properly check the subnet mask is the same when you staticly assign the address.
