Question : Problem: Need utility to show installed memory
I have a Gateway 975 server w/2GB of memory which I want to upgrade to 4GB. The box has 6 slots (three 2-slot pairs). Since this is our email server and is impossible to get into without coming in durring off-hours and removing it from the rack, I need a way to determine how the present memory is configured: two-1GB, four-512's,or whatever, while the box is on line. Is there a utility that would tell me this?
Answer : Problem: Need utility to show installed memory
The utility known as CPU-ID (otherwise known as CPU-Z) works really well for finding the installed Memory and CPU as well. It will show memory type, which slots are populated, speed, brand, ect...
