Question : Problem: Cannot get CPU 2 VGA to work on this TV.

ok im not new to this at all but for some reason which is beside me, i cannot get my Dell Inspiron 9100 VGA out to work with my new 32" Samsung LCD (LN32A450). i have used it for months with my Sony Bravia 40" without any issues but not this television. heres what i know.

I know i have to match the native resolution with the samsung which i found through Moninfo app. heres the results from that application:

So now i see that i must either set my resolution to 1360x768 at 60Hz or 1024x768 at 60Hz. which i tried. well.... 1024 res gives me an "Mode not supported" error on my TV and when i set the second monitor to 1360 it displays on the TV..BUT it starts flickering once i start doing things and after a little bit it fails and goes blank and i hear the familier USB disconnect sound, AND i can ONLY set it to work if its set to "Extend my desktop to this monitor" which is odd, i dont see why it wont just clone my desktop.. but either way it fails after a bit once i start moving around..

i have tried to use an application call PowerStrip. but thats beyond me.. that app just causes mayhem for me.. maybe if i had a step by step guide i could use that app.

so all in all i just want to put my laptop under the TV and use it through the Samsung LCD with my mireless Keyboard and mouse..

Answer : Problem: Cannot get CPU 2 VGA to work on this TV.

OK well by a strange twist of fate i seemed to have figured it out.. kind of. i ended up scrapping the VGA cord and got myself a DVI>>HDMI cable and just ran it like that. it seems to correct all the refresh rate/resolution problems for me using HDMI..
