Question : Problem: 10/100mbps NIC card only works at 10mbps on a 10/100mbps hub?

I've just purchased 6 new machines from Dell and am having huge problems with the network cards in them. They are Broadcom 440X onboard NICs and here's the problem. I should be able to plug the network cable into the port on the hub and join my domain under automatic IP and DNS settings and it should see my domain perfectly. However, I get a limited or no connectivity warning and I get an Orange and Amber light on the back of NIC card like there are collisions... After 15 hours of reading and research, I tried setting the speed of the card to 10mb instead of AUTO and it works fine, and that doesn't fly with me...I need it at 100mb. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just don't know what to do anymore...I'm lost. I get the same problem on each one of these new machines.

Get a new 10/100/1000 switch for almost nothing.   Here's an 8 port Netgear 10/100/1000 for $60.

If you have new machines, odds are your NICs in them are 10/100/1000.  Why settle for 100 when you can have 1000?
