Question : Problem: Why would 1GB DDR DIMM work in an ASUS mobo but not in a Dell Dimension 2400?

I put it in the Dell and i get BEEEEEEEEEP!

I put it in the ASUS and it boots up fine.

(before anyone asks, no, there are no other DIMMs in either box during those tests.)

Yes, I know, I should just shell out the $60 or $70 and get a set of 1GB DIMMS from newdirect or tigeregg or one of those, but now I'm paranoid that they won't work in this finicky box either.

The 1GB is Corsair XMS
The 512MB is Kingston Value RAM
they're both PC3200 (200 MHz) DDR
