Question : Problem: IBM T21 laptop screen will not illuminate

For some time when I have been turning on my laptop, the screen has  not always illuminated, but by moving the screen back and forth it would light up as normal. However, today when i went to use it i could not get the screen to illuminate except for very faint visibility, not enough to work by and moving the screen no longer works.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it.

There is a thin mylar connector cable between the screen and the body of the laptop. This has either worked loose from the connection on the motheboard(Which would account for your movement back and forth to make it work) or it has broken all together. You will probably have to dissasemble the laptop to view the cable.
