Question : Problem: Vista Device Manager no longer shows "Imaging Devices"

Running a vista premium SP1 on a HP Paviliion DV6245us laptop with 2gb of ram.
The integrated webcam had been working fine when I used QuickPlay.
Not sure what happened or what changed, but the webcam no longer works and
when looking into the Device Manager there is no longer a Imaging Device listed
which had contained the integrated webcam.

Any ideas, suggestions,

regards

Answer : Problem: Vista Device Manager no longer shows "Imaging Devices"

More info that should be helpful

Tried reinstalling the Webcam Driver and Firmware from the HP Download site for the laptop
and am not sure that it reinstalled properly. When I ran the setup program for the Webcam
driver it opened a command window, displayed "updating" in it, closed the window but never
said it was complete or successful. I tried contacting HP without any luck. How do I determine
if the HP driver / firmware update actually installed correctly or not. Perhaps this is at the crutch
of the problem on why the webcam and imaging device no longer shows in the device manager.
