Question : Problem: sony laptop driver upgrades

I have a sony vaio laptop model vgn-nr498e, windows vista 32bit home, 3gigs ram, intel duo proc 2.0ghz.It has the intell 965 express family video card that has .5 gig shared memory.  I'm trying to play "age of conan". My system specs meet all requirements. I have more than enough video memory but my video card says it doesn't support both vector shading 2.0 and hardware transform and lighting. The game errors "failed to initialize rendering subsystem" when i start it. Intell says that chip set  does support the above and provides new drivers that i guess enables the features. I downloaded the drivers (version 15.12.2) @

i downloaded the dirvers both exe and zip but when i try to install them

for extracted .zip
my computer -> manage -> device manager -> display adapters->intel 965->browse = "newest drivers already installed

when i try and run the intel driver.exe
 my sony says they are not machine specific i.e. they don't match my laptops model. I went to sony web site and all they have are the original drivers from 2007 (version 7.10.1)

talked to sony support that was a waste of time. new that before i started.

How do i bypass the sony model check to install the newest intell drivers?

Answer : Problem: sony laptop driver upgrades

i got the new drivers installed, i used the zip package and

extracted to /video card

my computer -> manage -> device manager -> display adapters->intel 965->pick driver from list->browse->video card/graphics/igdlh.inf

age of conan can run on an intell video card but i get about 2 frames a second (not playable)
