Question : Problem: On-board Sound doesn't work

I have a P4 1.4 G, My mother board, D845GBV, has built-in sound, (running Windows 2000)..
I just installed a PCI 1394 controller to download video...After I installed it and booted up my PC my sound no longer worked.  I tried to re-install the drivers and still no sound.  I then pulled the 1394 controller out and it still doesn't work.  There are no errors found in device manager..Any ideas?

I really hate onboard sound to be honest with you.

I know this option sucks, but my onboard sound quit working on my board and I never grew enough patients to fix the $30 problem.

I quickly hoped on new egg, purchased a SoundBlaster Live card for 30 bucks.  Never had an issue again.

Take a look, browse through and consider.  I mean, in all honesty, 'what if' you want to upgrade/rebuild your computer and you find an awsome motherboard that doesnt have onboard sound?  Hey, got it covered.
