Question : Problem: What To Do And What To Get for a fully formated computer laptop and desktop

Laptop dv4-1125nr specs:
4GB ram
Intel Core 2 Duo
Hard drive 300GB
windows vista home premium 64bit
Service pack 1
Would like to know what tweaks i could perform to make it more efficient/guide on what to do step by step on getting this laptop performing well with the right antivirus/antispyware protection i removed quite a bit of software and now im just waiting for the right things to do for it.
tweakhound was one i found didnt really help me much.

There's a lot of stuff that you can do. Here are a few things, I always do:

- Run avg antivirus
- Use a regular user for day to day use and use the admin account for management of the os
- Adjust the system settings to run in classic mode and turn off all the non-essential eye candy
