Question : Problem: cisco 2948g console port

I am trying to connect to a cisco 2948g that I purchased used. It seems to work as a switch but I was trying to connect to the console to possibly set it back to default settings and then set an ip address to it.
I can't seem to get the console working. I have tried to computers using hyperterminal. Settings were set to 9600, 8, none, 1, none
i get nothing when trying to connect. nothing while the switch por's .

Also if you are using a console cable and only a blank screen comes up try hitting ENTER a couple times. Sometimes with Hyperterminal the router prompt doesnt show at first
