Question : Problem: Nvidia Quadro FX570 256MB graphic card sizing for business use
Our finance users have a Dell T3400 Precision desktop with Intel Core2 CPU and 4GB Ram.
They use 4 x 21" LCD with 1280x1024, 32bit color to view static 2D display - MS Outlook, Excel, PDF, Bloomberg charts, real time prices etc. Some Bloomberg videos (approx 320x300) and some youtube.com clips.
A Navidia Quadro FX570 256MB card can support 4 displays. To my understanding the Quadro FX570 can handle 3D rendering so 4x21" LCD with 2D slow changing text display should be no sweat?
Is there any graphics display card expert who can comment and confirm my understanding is correct? Dell is recommending a much higher end Nvidia Quadro FX1700 (Approx $1K each) card which may be overkill.
Any comments welcomed. Thanks.
Answer : Problem: Nvidia Quadro FX570 256MB graphic card sizing for business use
The NVS 280's will do 4 monitors at 1280x1024 easily so you'll have room if you ever need to upgrade to larger monitors.
