Question : Problem: SONY Memory Stick Pro Duo Vs Sandisk

Hi
I have 2 X Sony memory Stick Pro Duo (1 X 2GB and 1 X 512 MB). I wanted to store mp3's on them. I inserted them in my Memory Stick Duo adaptor and them into my card reader on the PC. The PC did not recognise that there was a card in there. Nothing happened at all. I did the same with a sandisk (much smaller 32mb) and the PC immediately recognised it so it's not the PC and not the adaptor. The only thing seems to be the cards.
Can this be explained? It took a 28 hour transfer from PC to the card in my phone. So the card seems OK in that respect
