Question : Problem: Printing from Crystal Reports to a Xerox WorkCentre Pro 412 multifuntion printer

I am trying to print from embedded Crystal reporting objects within a MS SQL database the printers that I am trying to print to are Xerox WorkCentre Pro 412 printers with version 1.09 of the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 412 PCL 6 printer dirver installed.  These reports print fine to all other printers on the network (including another Xerox - a Xerox WorkCentre Pro 55 several different HP printers and others).  Additionally, all other applications print to this printer without any problems.  Another interesting item:  when I export the report to a PDF or excel file, the report looks fine and also prints from the new (exported) file.  The developer that developed this SQL application and created these embedded Crystal Reports objects isn't being much help.  They indicate that, since the SQL app will not use a new version of Crystal Reports until the next major release, there isn't much they can do.  Additionally, I haven't been able to find anything on Xerox's web site either.  My next step is to re-install the drivers.

Any thoughts??

I had a similar problem with embedded Crystal reports engine in a CRM package, and updating the embedded dll file (crpe.dll) to a newer version cured it, ( or it could be that you have too new a version ).
Crystal formats its pages for the printer it expects.

Another workaround is to use an application like eprint or batch'n print pro.

Amongst other things, these apps can be set up to automatically print any file dropped into a folder, so if you exported the file, it would print automatically.
These apps aren't free, but they aren't expensive either, and they let you download a trial version free.
